Weekly Schedule

 

The regular weekly schedule is available to regular practitioners, those who have attended the current month’s introductory workshop or those who have participated in the Zen Retreat Day for that month.

We do not offer “open” or “drop in” sitting periods.

College students working on course assignments are asked to contact the Center to make special arrangements.

(The Introductory workshop also serves as a welcome and orientation for those who have practiced meditation in other traditions or at other Zen Centers.)

A detailed calendar is sent by email to Practitioners, Introduction to Zen Meditation Workshop participants and retreat day participants.  There are variations in the schedule which are noted in the calendar grid/newsletter each month.

The Zen Center is closed during intensives except to those who are participating.  Any changes in schedule due to holidays, etc., will be found in the newsletter.

Sample Schedule

Sundays, 5 pm to 7

SCHEDULE
Beach 3

  • 5:00 to 5:30 Zazen/meditation
  • 5:30 to 5:40 Walking meditation
  • 5:40 to 6:10 Zazen/meditation*
  • 6:10 to 6:20 Walking meditation
  • 6:20 to 7:00 Talk or reading, followed by discussion
  • 7:00 to 7:30 Optional tea and social

Individual Instruction is offered  4th Sundays and as indicated in the newsletter

Work Practice:  This is a mindfulness practice while performing simple tasks in a community setting, for the benefit of all.  It is usually held 1st Sundays, periodically, from 4:00 to 4:50 (check newsletter)

*Note:  Those who are in their first few months of practice may come for the last period of Zazen/meditation if two sitting periods will be too much.

Tuesdays, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
