Weekly Schedule
The regular weekly schedule is available to regular practitioners, those who have attended the current month’s introductory workshop, or those participating in a Zen Mindfulness Month program.
We do not offer “open” or “drop in” sitting periods.
(The Introductory workshop also serves as a welcome and orientation for those who have practiced meditation in other traditions or at other Zen Centers.)
A detailed calendar is send by email to Practitioners, Introduction to Zen Meditation Workshop participants and Zen Mindfulness Month Program participants.
Sundays, 5 pm to 7
*Note: Those who are in their first few months of practice may come for the last period of Zazen/meditation if two sitting periods will be too much.
SCHEDULE
- 5:00 to 5:30 Zazen/meditation
- 5:30 to 5:40 Walking meditation
- 5:40 to 6:10 Zazen/meditation*
- 6:10 to 6:20 Walking meditation
- 6:20 to 7:00 Talk or reading, followed by discussion
- 7:00 to 7:30 Optional tea and social
Individual Instruction is offered 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Sundays
Work Practice: 1st & 3rd Sundays 4:00 to 4:50 (Mindfulness practice while performing simple task in community setting)
Prison Project: 3rd Sunday 2:00 to 4:50 (Exceptions for intensives, etc.)
4th Sundays: Three periods of zazen/seated meditation:
- 5:00 to 5:30 Zazen/meditation
- 5:30 to 5:40 Walking meditation
- 5:40 to 6:10 Zazen/meditation
- 6:10 to 6:20 Walking meditation
- 6:20 to 6:50 Zazen/meditation*
- 6:50 to 7:20 Optional tea and social
Tuesdays, 7 pm to 9:
*Note: Those who are in their first few months of practice may come for the last period of Zazen/meditation if two sitting periods will be too much.
